Honey, sesame & halloumi skewers
A flavorful vegetarian side dish featuring halloumi cheese skewers glazed with a sweet and spicy honey-sesame sauce. Perfect for barbecues or grilling.

- 2 x 250g blocks halloumi
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tbsp chilli flakes
- 100 ml honey
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Begin by making the honey glaze by mixing all glaze ingredients in a bowl and seasoning with salt and pepper.
Cut each block of halloumi into thirds parallel with the fold, then break in half at the fold to get 12 pieces in total.
Carefully thread the halloumi pieces onto metal skewers.
Brush the neutral oil over the barbecue bars, then brush the halloumi with the honey glaze.
Grill the skewers, brushing with glaze every now and then and turning carefully every 2-3 minutes until golden all over.
Alternatively, cook on a griddle pan over high heat if you prefer.
Serve with the remaining glaze in a bowl on the side for dipping.
